Hey all, Im helping out in an audio installation. I have heard it said
soo often that you cant run power cables (sheilded or not) next to
audio cables (parrallel) and that when they cross they should do so at
90 degrees. What is an acceptable distance for this not to be a
problem? And can anyone fill me in on the technicalities of the
problem? Is it an elecrical induction thing or what?
It's an induction thing, and a capacitive pickup thing, and it's not an
issue if the power lines are clean but it can become a big problem when
there is trash radiating out of the power lines. Keep everything a foot
or so apart.
