Just to confirm, the MX3282 does NOT screw the fader to the front panel.

So, whatever else, it is NOT the failure mode you suggest as I have
continually
stated.

Well my very first post in this thread was:

I put that at a less than 10% chance of him being lucky. I didn't expect he
would be, but you never know, do you.
