Apologies, I'm an idiot - I had intended to give the specification but
I seem to have forgotten...
They are 4700 uF, 40v. ELN4700-40(105) is the part number.They're
large - maybe 400mm height and 300 in diameter.
I am told that these are concerned with the main power input to the
machine (I think - I know very, very little about electronics).

There are hundreds of caps in those things. Which ones are you referring
to, and what values and voltages are they?
