When you overcome the dizzyness of "too much information" in the Rane
Library's "Grounding and Shielding Audio Devices", understand that the
general wiring standard for unbalanced hookups connects the shield at both
ends. The occassional ground loop hum that seldom happens can sometimes be
cured by lifting the shield at one end. A short M/F cable wired this way
will spend most of its life in a drawer somewhere.
Thanks! There is indeed a lot of information on that rane site. That
is nice, but I simply couldn't find the answerI needed. Even now,
when I know the answer, and knowl which page to read I still can't
find the answer on the page:(
