pins, particularly in a version of a mic that gets packaged in a kit.
They may have found a Chinese supplier that gives them the gold pins
for less cost than the part they've been buying.
Someone who doesn't have the knowledge or experience to choose his own
drum mics and instead buys a packaged kit is likely to be impressed by
gold plated connectors. I see it as a marketing point rather than a
technical improvement.
