IDE Win98SE HD to USB?

Howdy everyone!

I am still running an old PII 98SE system with a Lexicon Core II/Wavelab 4
setup---yep and it's actually been rock solid for 5 years---so keep your
mean comments to yourself!

But a couple of problems have developed. Mainly I seem to have a really
hard time to get the computer to start. I shut it down correctly, but
then when I push the button on the front, the computer makes noises but
nothing happens. I am not sure if the C drive is spinning up or not.

I may have to abandon this old machine eventually.

But the main question I have is this...

I set up the machine with an audio only drive---it's a Seagate IDE drive
from about 5 years ago. If I want to access the data on that drive, can
I somehow move it into a USB enclosure and access it from one of my more
modern computers? Or is there some 98SE formating thing (like fat32 or
whatever that is) that means this will not be a trivial thing?

What am I looking at here?

Please let me know if there is additional information you need to help me
figure this out.

Thanks in advance.

Happy New Year everyone on RAP!

Rob R.
