I'm having trouble locating the source of distrotion on a vocal track.
The path is Rode NT2-A into the Peavey VMP-2 into E-MU 1820m for
conversion, into computer. None of the "over" lights on E-MU or DAW are
lighting up to indicate clipping. VMP-2 set to 5 (this one really does go
to 11:)). But I'm getting a high-frequency brittle crackling sound on
certain vocal notes. I know that without hearing it, it might be hard to
hazard a guess. But is there anything about the situation as described
that might trigger a thought as to the cause?
Thanks!
