Hey. I'm thinking about buying a large diaphram condenser for vocals and
acoutic guitar (probably the Rode NT-1 or NT-2). However, without a good
preamp, the mic won't show it's true sonic potential. Right now my setup is
PT LE with an MBox2. How much would I have to spend on a tube preamp to
really notice the better quality? I don't have a big buget, so i'm looking
for the best bang for the buck; I wanna do this right the first time. any
suggestions?

Tube preamps are generally designed to distort - there isn't a lot of
point to them otherwise. You are likely to find that your mbox is
almost indistinguishable from perfect.
