No, that's easy. But tape manufacturing seems to be a lost art, it is no
longer possible to coat long strands of plastic with a magnetizable
coating, even though it has become remarkably possible to put
magnetizable coatings on disks.

Remember: the best recording of an event is the recording that exists.
It is not fun to come home from a live recording with a partial
recording because a particle from a shrinkwrap new certified dataspec
DAT tape clogs one head of the DAT during a concert.

Sonic concerns have a very good mileage, we DO live by those and what we
do sounds better than what the other guy does because of those -
whatever they are. But those that do this to pay their bills live by
productivity, failed recordings are not good for business and rarely
billable.
