Re: patchbay ground problem

Scott has often said "One and only one ground connection"
between two pieces of equipment, and doubtless wouldn't
claim originality (although it might likely be true).

Fair enough.

*Everything Else* is a special case, and is never, ever,
never understood to be so well enough for a Usenet post.

Not sure I understand what you mean here .

A coupla more gripes, for the (fat chance) benefit of
future postings:

Monitors in the patch bay? First I heard of it.

Sorry for the confusion. My monitors were/are not run through the
patch bay. I seemed to be have two distinct problems, which I
erroneously related to one another. The first, which I attributed to
my patch bay, turned out to be faulty solder points in my input
panel. The second was a problem between my Toft console and my Tannoy
Reveal monitors. PMI (Toft's distributor) replicated the problem
using the same monitors, claimed responsibility (or at least stated
that it wasn't my own wiring stupidity/ignorance) made custom cables
for me, and the problem was solved.

Do these monitors have Edison safety grounds (third pin)?
Etc.

Yes.

Balanced and unbalanced are not the same thing as
grounding issues.

Understood.

OK. Enough grousing. Sorry. What bugs me is ....
(my problem!)

All good fortune,
