I bought a new mixer and need to wire some EDAC connectors.
I've got the plug, cover and loads of little gold pins.
As I chose the pins with the eyelet solder holes, rather than the 'crimp'
ones I figured I did not need the crimping tool.
I can't figure out how the pins stay securely the plug though, it looks
like if I pushed the plug into the socket they would push themselves out
of the holes. I've not soldered anything yet.
Do you need the crimping tool even if you have the solder ones? It seems
quite expensive for something I'll use just once.
The crimp tool is not needed. The removal tool is less costly and a good
thing to have on hand. Also NOTE: EDAC = ELCO. When you search, use both.
Maybe you'll find an "ELCO tool" for less than the EDAC version.
