I understand that Motu charges a very reasonable flat-fee for repairs, so it
may be worth checking with them first. Other than that, probably the best
place to post your question is on the forums over at unicornation.com.

Hey guys, I have an older MOTU 1296 that has suddenly developed some
problems. Output channels 8, 10, and 12 are all dead - there's signal no
the meters but the only sound is a very quiet hum. Inputs 7 and possibly 9
have also stopped working, but I haven't had a chance to look at any other
specifics. I've already eliminated any cabling issues, it's truly in the
box itself.
So other than sending it back to MOTU, what other options are there for
repairing this? It seems like the problem is in the analog domain so if I
can get schematics I have access to a first rate tech who could repair
it - anyone ever get schematics from MOTU? Is there anybody else out there
with a good rep for repairing stuff like this? I know Black Lion works
with MOTU and I thought maybe I could do a clock upgrade at the same time
I get the other fixes.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Sean
