Daisy Chain Amp inputs (splitting mains out)

I have a situation where I'm trying to decide on a mixer for a
recurring live event. I'm leaning towards a small rack mount mixer
based on a really small number of input channels required.
Inputs will be: one wireless mic, one backup wired mic, one CD player
(two mono inputs needed). That means minimum of two balanced XLR
inputs and two line inputs. I'm looking at the Nady RMX-6 for rack
mount, or Soundcraft compact 4 / Peavey PV-6 (or 8) putting it on a
slide out rack shelf.
The mains output (single mono signal) will go to three amps, all QSC
which have an input parallel dip switch. This means any signal sent to
channel one will be duplicated to channel two. With the use of a Male
to Male XLR cable, the signal can physically be daisy chained from one
amp to the next. The question is, how many times can this be done
without signal degradation?
Two of these amps will be active at any one time. I want to wire the
3rd one into the input signal chain as a backup. If one of the amps
fail, I switch the speaker connections to the backup and away we go.
If I do this, I'm effectively splitting the a single balanced mixer
output to SIX amp inputs. Will this work?
