The concept you need to get clear in your head is that it is a software
interface to a 36 bit dsp mixer on the card. Because of this input
monitoring via the cards monitor mixer is not low latency, it is no
latency. If relevant it is also less CPU use than input monitoring via
software, but that might be irrelevant to you.
Why is it that the sound file output is louder when "Wave Out" is
selected in the Patchbay router than when "Monitor Mixer"
is selected?
Depends on output level settings and on fader settings in the monitor
mixer.
What's the difference between AP 1/2 and AP Multi? They appear to
sound the same.
AP multi is "send it to the card, hope it makes sense of it", AP 1/2 is
"send it to the cards channels 1 and 2, AP multi is what makes games and
lame software work.
The options under the device listings actually say M-Audio Delta, not
Audiophile. Apparently the Audiophile and Delta cards are very close
cousins? Essentially the same card?
Not essentially the same card, THE same card, it is a card in the Delta
card range.
Any hints/tips regarding this card?
Enjoy, and enjoy that the monitor mixer makes it easy for you to record
any audio stream without the use of software like "Total Recorder".
Thanks for all input.
Kind regards
