That makes sense, however I technician hit a playback button and bang the
tweeters blew. The speakers got a powerful signal peak through the playback
circuitry.

We weren't playing that loud.

If you've blown the tweeters, it's probably because you were playing the
speaker at volume levels well into the range of audible distortion.

You don't need to fuse the tweeters; just play the system at a reasonable
level.
