It's been my experience that RE15's and others in the family change with
age, usually veering toward a slightly brighter sound. (Probably the
diaphragm suspension stiffening, but that's just a guess.) You may like the
sound; I have four RE15s sitting here, and each one sounds different. Three
out of the four sound really good, in different ways (one is kind of dull,
but it'll make an okay mic for an MC). If at all possible, listen before you
buy, but if it's not possible, I offer odds of 3:1 you'll be happy.
