But the "Lock" wording is still greyed out and, no matter what I do,

I've seen sound cards where when recording from a digital source, the
ability to check external or internal becomes grayed out because it
always locks to the external source. that may not be what you're
seeing tho.. so hard to see your screen from here.

Hi Julian,
What's puzzling is that the *ability* to check the box for "External Lock"
is not greyed out i.e. I have the ability to check it ... and need to,
because it defaults to "Internal" but the wording, telling you that it
actually *has* a lock *is* greyed out. So it looks like the box is checked
but it's not *receiving* a lockable signal.
In the end, I even copied the minidisc stuff via analogue and must admit
I'm
not too displeased with the results, which are clear, "airey", and more
than
adequate for my purposes at the moment.
I suppose, in this world of ever changeing media, it's an ongoing problem,
transferring masters etc ... to whatever is the 'media of the moment' but,
hopefully, with gradually getting all my stuff into .wav format, that'll
cover my requirements for the foreseeable future.
Regards,
Colin
Thanks for letting us know. Have you asked tech support for the
vendor?
Julian
Haven't yet but will do. I've been too busy just trying to get the job out.
I bought it through an Ebay dealer, so the 'vendor support' goes out the
window but, if all else fails I'll get in touch with Focusrite.
Regards,
Colin
