I'm not militantly anti-Mac but I'd really not like to avoid changing
horses after working with PCs all these years. All of my other
computeres are PCs running some version of Windows (I have one Win98,
one Win2000, and one WinXP) and learning a new vocabulary and new
application software is more than I want to do at my age and level of
interest. So I'll stick with PCs.

There is also the "Mac Tax", the premium you pay for any
Apple hardware/software just because it is "cool" (or because
of the miniscule market share, or whatever reason). Many of
us are unwilling to pay extra as there is no percieved offsetting
value. This difference is even better exposed as arbitrary now
that Apple uses the same CPU as PCs do.

OTOH, I paid the "Mac Tax" by chosing to buy an iPod
rather than one of the several other MP3 players.
