Is it recruiting season or something?
Are they on a mission from their God?
Reading some of these messages it seems like more of a cult than an
operating system and in a strange way their behavior reminds me of the
Moonies that used to infest the airports pestering people. You could
talk till you were blue in the face but they could only see things
their way and they were very persistant, bordering on obnoxious.
So what gives? Is there some kind of contest going on or something?

The answers to all of your questions are answered in the book "The True
Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements" by Eric Hoffer
"An examination of the types of individuals who tend to join and foster
those destructive (and sometimes creative) fanatical causes which have
wreaked such havoc in our time."
