The modern version of this might be a PC, some recording software, and an
audio interface. 100 KHz bandpass should suffice to capture disturbances
that actually make it though a good power supply and into the audio works.
Interfacing to the power line would take some care.

Some aggressive high pass filtering with DAW software could make any
transients stand out. Enlarging the affected time segment would make a nice
screen dump for documentation.
