Hi Harry,
OK, for fun I thought I would give it a whirl. After listening to all of the
songs sample from 'Sexy' on Amazon.com I can see how listening to that album
might start to drive you crazy. Almost every song has that same muted
cowbell/wood block/rim click coupled with a bass drum constantly going. I
didn't find the timbales/congas/bongos particularly bothersome though so I
don't know if we are thinking the same way about it.
The following file has the same 30 second passage twice, the first time it
is *unaltered and the second time its been EQ'd to try to make the click not
so distracting. As you will hear I wasn't able to 'fix' it without affecting
the other sounds in the same range. I did this really quick and just using
WaveLab 5 with medium range computer speakers so some one with better tools
and skills willing to spend more time could probably do it better. (If it's
worth it to you to spend $25 to $100 per hour for someone to attempt to
improve this for you)
Anyway, it was fun to try :

* - to get the unaltered file I :
bought the song on iTunes
burned it to a CD with iTunes
ripped the CD to a WMA file using Windows Media Player
imported the WMA into Wavelab and saved it as a WAV file
then I started to edit!!! sheesh! ;-)
.
