I'd tend to do this sort of thing with a single pair to start out with.
Put everyone up in front of the pair, move them around until they sound
right, and then consider adding spots afterward. Assuming you're going
for a natural sound, which you might not be.

Do you want it to sound like Bach or like the Byrds? Spotted harpsichord
is VERY clangy sounding. Maybe you want that... the Byrds did.
