Sounds like a gold plated piece of crap. If it even looks like a Radio
Shack adapter (whether it is or isn't) take it back to a Radio Shack
and ask them to replace it. They'll take back anything that looks like
it's theirs.

LOL! :-)) Perhaps because they've been "conditioned" to
seeing their stuff come back, broken.
