I do not disagree with you Chel. Not at all!
That is part of life... you can have good musicians, bad musicians,
good ensembles, bad ensembles, venues with good acoustics, venues with
bad acoustics, good performances, bad performances, good engineers, bad
engineers, good equipment, bad equipment, good chemistry, bad
chemistry...
PLUS all stages between good and bad;
PLUS all combinations of all of the hereinabove mentioned.
What I'm politely suggesting is that an engineer cannot possibly become
obsolete just by using a 'universal' remedy!
Again, I completely agree with you when it comes to using 2
microphones... It is a great technique... it is not the ONLY technique
though.
