I think if parents are going to send their children to foreign schools for
education younger than 16, they should
have to insure the schools meet US standards.

Nanny state! Nanny state!

Why should they have less requirements than
home schooled children?

because a state has no jurisdiction over what
happens in another country
home schooling is by state standards, not fed's, BTW

Try to stay focused.  If a parent of an American child is bound
by US law to have that child educated per US state stds (which
have a federal component) when in US territory,
then why do we let the parent ship
off their kid and avoid compliance with that law?

Lordy, that is NOT WHY THEY DO THAT.
They don't sit around and say, "my God, the standards
are too high here, I want to circumvent that and send them to a
school with lower standards" What they are doing
is sending the kids off for a religious education..
You may not like the religion, you may not like what
they teach about non mUslims and AMsrican. You
might not like the religious brainwashing, you might not
like the treaching of hatreds. But the parents have
the right to send their kids to such
schools abroaqd. And the right to send
them to such schools in the US, as long as they
are taught reaqding, wrtitng, arithmetic, science, etc.
enough so the kids can pass whatever state asessment
tests they are supposed to pass.

Is enforcement problematic? Sure.
Is madrassa educated young adults in the US even more
problematic? Yeah, I think so.
I demand you do something.

Now you are getting into religious education.
sorry, there are no government standards for that.

As for your demands, I am heating up anothe
slice of pizza.
