If you think that a Sansui 2000 is the be all and end all, that
there is nothing better, then I don't understand why you need ?to
discuss anything about amps at all, noir do I see why you
would even bother to seriously
listen to anything else.
If you need more power, get a 5000.
you proabaly can scrounge one for less than $50, and youare good to
go until it breaks down.
Sell the Krell, you don't have anything that needs that much power'
anyway, and take the family to Rainwaters for dinner.

Art, there's a middle ground based on tolerance. And the hobby is full of
surprises. The Sansui 2000 might not be my preference, but buried in the
eBay rubble, there truely are gems.

What bothered me about Boon's post is that, if he were to be believed, it
would all be settled, as in:

1. You CAN'T get high end quality for little money.

I never said that. I never mentioned price. YOU DID. I merely
mentioned the best. You equated that with cost.

2. You get what you pay for.

You object to "you get what you pay for"? All righty then, Bob.

3. The latest is the greatest.

Never said that, either. I referred specifically to your list.
Personally, I love LS3/5as, ESL-57s and a variety of vintage amps. If
you had formulated your comments around vintage pieces from the 50s
and 60s, you wouldn't have heard a peep from me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once again, you are trying to enforce taste. Very, very bad.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. You don't know what good is, so rely on me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely not. I always say, "Listen for yourself."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And, "Listen to me, because I know more than you do, and I will invalidate
your opinions with my superior standing. I stand over you, bob.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[snip adhominem slur]

You invalidated my opinion by saying that I don't know what good is and you
do.

As far as the article link, please synopsize. I don't want to waste my time.
