Now that wasn't so hard, was it. The next step,
now that your editorial interjections have been
correctly identified, is for readers to judge for
themselves whether your editorial deletions and
omissions have altered the meaning of the
original text. For comparison, here is what I
originally wrote:
"Sound & Vision, the magazine Tom Nousaine
contributes speaker measurements to, has seen
a catastrophic decrease in circulation, from [more
than] 400,000 to [less than] 200,000, in the past 2
years, has suffered swingeing staff cuts, and Mr.
Nousaine's contributions have been reduced
considerably. By contrast, Stereophile's circulation
has increased by 2% 2006-2007, to 75,300."
Rather different in meaning, as I am sure readers will
see for themselves.
Of equal interest to me, I wonder what "Foreign Policy" magazine's
circulation is compared to "Newsweek".
