I saw a PCM-F1 in action in '82 or '83.
The CD came out in the US in 83, and I was listening to
PCM-F1 tapes a few years before that. So do the math!
Okay. Sony launched the PCM-F1 at the fall 1981 Tokyo Audio
Fair, which is where I first heard it. I made my first recordings
using the 'F1 in the spring of 1982. It was first shown in the US
at the January 1982 CES. So, doing the math, as Mr. Krueger
requests, it appears the answer is _one _ year.
He meant he heard Betamax tapes years before cd!
