Wrong. Your premise that western civilization is based on "freedom and
equality of religion" is hideously uninformed.

Another hideously unjustified opinion.

Are you really that poorly informed/edcuated ?

These references don't refute my point.
When did religious freedom and secular government take root and come
to dominate western government and civilization?
It wasn't in the Spanish inquisition.
It wasn't in the religious wars.
FYI, it was relatively recently but it dominates western
culture and government today.
I don't see how you can find the basis of modern western
civilization and government in 1492 unless you want to
reference Columbus.

Are you being deliberately obtuse ?

Inability to address my point noted.

You inability to think noted.

Let me simplify it for you.

The 'West' or at least Europe has been largely 'civilised' for a long time (millenia in
places) yet even so, our modern 'liberal democracy' (not to be confused with your
understanding of the meaning of liberal) with all its freedoms for all is a quite modern
innovation.

Exactly...and I'm talking about "modern" western civilization.

So you are expecting another culture to adapt to our political
systems, culture, civilization and expectations even though the
defintion you use for our culture is a very recent thing, and you
expect them to do so NOW.

We're still struggling with race issues 140 years after the
Emancipation Proclamation. We aren't even meeting our own
expectations.

Have you ever studied history, 2pid? Or do you, like bushie, 'think'
it's a waste of time?

See just how recently the USA outlawed slavery and the trouble that caused.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_democracy

Take most Muslim countries, especially those 'tribal areas' and quite simply they've
only known 'civilisation' in really quite recent times. Many still live in what we
would consider to be primitive conditions and have little schooling for example.

Why do you even begin to imagine they'd think or be like us ?

When did I say that? Hint...never.

I just *knew* you don't even understand what you say.

So the conclusion is that you pollute an inappropriate newsgroup with
massive amounts of off-topic posts in which you don't even know what
you are saying.

LOL! Brilliant.
