Personally I
think Howard writes very well, but that's probably
because I too tend to run on and have trouble shortening
sentences to essentials. I like that style. However, it
requires more of the reader, and on an NG the reader
generally won't give more.

Note that Paul is such a skilled writer that he's abandoned paragraphs, so I
had to add them back in to make his spew at least semi-manageable.

Don't debate points of literacy with me, Arnie. Stick to transistors
and diodes.

Ludovic Mirabel has a similar
problem in that he has much of value to say but sometimes
fails to say it concisely enough to grab people's
attention. This is the era of the "sound bite". I guess
you have to grip people by the throat to get their
attention.

Well Ludo is one of those people who talks to hear himself talk and writes
to see his thoughts, such as they are, written out. Communicating with
others really has nothing to do with it.

Perhaps if you actually read Ludovic you might see the value in his
thoughts. He is in fact a very intelligent man, and sincere into the
bargain. And he writes rather well if, as I assume, English is not his
first language. (His formatting stinks, however).

One area in which Howard does fall down,
however, is humour. Toss in a joke here and there,
Howard. The people like it, and will like you more for
it.

There's no need to add humor when writing on RAO. You can be sure that one
of the resident clowns, say Paul or Art, will be by to drop some off.

Why, thank you, Arnie. That pleases me enormously. Two compliments
from Arnie Krueger in one week. Astonishing.

And if you don't naturally possess humour, just mock
somebody occasionally. It goes down well here.

Plus, mocking person is such a good way to puff yourself up, and help you
maintain your illusion of self-importance.

It is, isn't it? And you would know.

Being human I zeroed onto every line mentioning "Ludovic" and
licked my
lips like the cat who swallowed two annoyingly monotonous cuckoo,
cuckoo
singers..
It was a change from reading the love-in between Krueger and Ferstler
discussing
my failings. They have little to say about audio but compensate
discussing
my psyche , my English and my text formatting.
You're right on both counts. English is not my native
language and I hate
reading my own line-leaping postings. The first I can do little about,
for the second I tried every remedy I could think of without success. I
used Ctrl C and V to copy from the
Word-Pad into the forum. I posted in my server but it still comes out
hashed in Google.
I think Google doesn't like my changing the wording once typed. If so I
can do nothing
about it. I always want to correct and then correct again. I was
free-lancing long
before I took up the internet and correcting is second nature to me.
Ludovic M.
Still waiting for Krueger's answer to my ABX epitaph. In English, well
formatted, of course.
