Remote Cassette Player Ejecting Adapter!! Help!

So I am having a slight but rather annoying problem with the cassette
player in my 2001 Chevy S10. About a year ago, I purchased a cassette
tape adapter for the truck in order to listen to my iPod while I
drove. Everything was great til about a month ago. Suddenly the
adapter kept being ejected from the cassette player at seemingly
random times during use. It just wouldn't stay in!
The "CLN" message for cassette player cleaning had been appearing some
time before, and I thought cleaning and resetting this message might
fix the problem, but alas, it did not. I tried reading the manual and
discovered methods to override automatic ejection for adapters like
this, but the instructions for overriding are all for cassette players
installed IN the main dash, and was intended for the audio systems
without CD players installed (as I guess at the time all cassette
adapters were assumed to be used for portable CD players, not iPods).
My truck comes with a CD player in the main dash, and has the remote
cassette tape player down below the main console.
After hours of toil and frustration, I cannot figure out how to
disable the ejection for the player. I'm afraid that maybe, because
it also has a CD player, there seemed no reason to include an ejection
override for the cassette player at the time it was made. If anyone
knows how to fix this, let me know!
Hope all that was clear. Please help!
