This, to me, showed the distinct lack of planning implicit in the
mission (and not just from the writers). They knew going in that they
could encounter radiation bursts, but they didn't design the ship well.
Only one safe room, and no shielding around the biolab, sickbay, or the
kitchen?
And why isn't there a supply of radiation blankets in the safe room?
Obviously, the shielding isn't designed for the worst-case scenario, but
at least have a contingency plan to give yourself the best possible chance.
Well one could make a quibble about the cost of sending all that
water/lead/other shielding materials into space. I dunno but wouldn't
you need a *lot* of water to shield against flare radiation (I really
dunno ok) IMHO it was a huge credibility hit that the dude stalled
outside the rad room and terminator gal went running back to just
countdown screech at the other astro-NOT.
Overall, this one one of the worst finales I've ever seen. Of course, a
terrible show deserves a terrible ending, so I hope this show is put out
of pasture - or shot, repeatedly in the head and a stake driven through
it's heart to ensure it never rises from the dead.
This is the first episode I've seen, is it really on its last legs?
(makes sense to me!)
