<sigh> So far, the highlight of the summer season.
..
This should (hopefully) be the last season. Usually there's tons of people posting about it in this group, but nobody seems to care about it anymore. The forced teams is an interesting approach since nobody can just sit by. Although it's likely to result in a two team against two-team battle. (Brains [Geeks] and Outcasts [Freaks--although they mainly seem to be artists] vs. Popular and Athletes [Jocks]?) But I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they want, since it usually makes for easy drama. The Athletes will win the competitions and the game is a popularity contest, favoring the Popular crowd.
This season has a definite anti-climactic feel to it. Does it really matter who wins? It's not like they're going to have any real career afterwards. (This isn't American Idol, and even those winners can't be guaranteed long-term success.)
Of course at some point in the game they'll have to drop the twist, but people will still likely stick with their groups. I get the impression that the Outcasts will be targeted first because they're such an easy target. (And they're not the most physical or mentally skilled.) Then, if they don't win HoH, the Brains will be targeted. Although if they do win they'll be targeting the Athletes, even though the smart thing would be to target the Popular. And after the Athletes have done the work, one of the Popular crowd will win.
