Never watched an episode of Friends; I just know the stars of the show

halfway thru I told him I had seen enough as I failed to laugh once.
The only network shows I watch are Heroes, 24 and House, and there are
too many other things on my cable if I want to watch something the
networks are the last thing on my mind.
Well, at least you watch House :). Thanks for bringing up another
series I failed to see even promos for: 24. The reason isn't the same
as for the others. 24 was too hyped its first season; I routinely
avoid series that get the kind of hype it did. (And it also won every
Emmy the first year...I think. I'm also suspicious of maiden voyage
shows that sweep the Emmys.) 24 is unusual--like Murder One, I
suppose, or a Masterpiece Theatre limited series--in that you need to
know way way way too much to start watching midway through.
It's surprising that you've never seen one episode of L&O or CSI. I'd
wager that most people on this group either are or have been a fan of
either at some point in their ("their" meaning viewer or show)
development.
