Who's the worst?  Here's my list, in approximate order of how much pain they
have inflicted on me.  Actually, I think I'll rate them 0-10, 0 being
"absolute cyclonic zero" and ten being "prince of American comedy":

0 Martin Short  - The Big Winner!
1 Will Ferrell
1 Tracy Morgan
1 Chris Elliott
1 Al Franken
1 Chris Farley
1 Rob Schneider
2 Chevy Chase
2 Ben Stiller
2 Molly Shannon
2 Mike Meyers
2 Chris Rock
3 Billy Crystal
3 Nora Dunn
3 Jan Hooks
3 Janeane Garofalo
4 Adam Sandler
4 Sarah Silverman
5 Dana Carvey

(There have been a lot of good comedians out of SNL and even a few great
ones, but I'm in a negative mood this morning.)(Also, note that I have
omitted people who left SNL for careers that never happened.)

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but you should recognize
the fact that some of the people on your list are unquestionably
successful.
There are several tiers among the SNL alums, all the way from the top
tier people like Eddie Murphy and Bill Murray down to the bottom tier
people like Chris Kattan and Nora Dunn. You can't seriously compare
the likes of a Billy Crystal with a nobody like Rob
Schneider...they're in completely different leagues.
I disagree with your assessment of many on your list, particularly
your selection for number one.

0 Martin Short - The Big Winner!
Martin Short may be an acquired taste, but there shouldn't be much of
an argument that his post-SNL career has been anything but a
success.
1 Will Ferrell
I don't particularly care for Ferrell, but it's quite obvious he's
been a HUGE success.
1 Tracy Morgan
Never liked Morgan much either, but he's good in small doses on 30
Rock. Still, he might deserve to be on this sort of list.
1 Chris Elliott
Chris is DEFINITELY an acquired taste. I've been a fan since the early
Letterman days, but still he can make me wince with the best of them.
1 Al Franken
Franken has written VERY good best-selling books and is about to
become a US Senator. I'd say that's pretty successful.
1 Chris Farley
I LOVED Farley on SNL, but he didn't really do much after that...Tommy
Boy had its moments...It's a shame Farley didn't have more time.
1 Rob Schneider
No argument here. A nobody. Probably flipping burgers as we speak.
2 Chevy Chase
Carved out a decent little career for himself...a few good movies, a
failed talk show.
Not great, but not too bad.
2 Ben Stiller
A certified movie star by any definition, but he owes an awful lot to
the Farrelly Brothers.
2 Molly Shannon
Liked her on SNL, but she has definitely ended up in one of the lower
tiers.
2 Mike Meyers
This one's really silly. Myers is an ENORMOUS success.
2 Chris Rock
Rock is also a HUGE success. One of the very few alums who didn't show
any signs of his future successes while on the show.
3 Billy Crystal
Billy Crystal is a legend. A genius. And a huge success.
3 Nora Dunn
Agree. Total nobody.
3 Jan Hooks
Yep. Nobody.
3 Janeane Garofalo
Always wanted to like her, but she's done nothing.
4 Adam Sandler
Come on, be serious... Sandler is a MEGA-star.
4 Sarah Silverman
Such a turn-on...but she's destined to be in the lower tiers.
5 Dana Carvey
A big disappointment. He was a superstar on SNL and then his career
just sort of vanished.

The current crop at SNL looks like they're all destined to be on the
lower rungs.
Not one real "star" in the bunch. Well, maybe Kristen Wiig, but that's
about it.
