For the record, on Web TV-- killfiling is just skipping.
That would be what killfiling means in any News client with the feature. Duh.
Assuming you know enough to realize "killfile" really means "filter". Duh.
Oh, don't start feigning ignorance for a nonsensical semantic argument. Yes,
the jargon is different but it's same concept. Don't pretend that you
didn't know that in Mail, it's called "filtering" and in News, it's called
"kill filing".
However, in News, you don't delete a killed News article. You've just
marked its article number read. You can change your mind and read it
later, until it expires on the server.
On Agent, in its filter function you can either mark a thread or
particular poster as "read" or you can mark 'em to "delete." IMO,
both are filters, but only the delete option is a killfile -- the
death penalty.
Also, for me, both options qualify as plonking, but I use the killfile
far more often than I simply mark a thread or user as read. I
currently have only one user flagged as "mark as read." (Care to
guess who? "No" is a fine response. ;) ) Also, when I'm done with a
thread, I usually mark it "ignore."
