Sarah Conner Chronicles tends to be slow-paced and builds towards big
moments. This is common with TV as shows as they lack the budget for
non-stop action. Tonight's episode was no exception.
It actually started off somewhat dull but as it built momentum, it
wound up packing quite a wallop. We get to see another side of Shirley
Manson's Gaelinatrix -- it's pretty clear by now that she killed her
"daughter's" parents and spared her. This might be because she thinks
that raising a child will help her understand Skynet, the
supercomputer that thinks more like a human than like a machine. We
see what happened in the season premiere -- John killed the man who
attacked him and Sarah.
And finally we got the great, sometimes intense, sometimes hilarious,
and ultimately quite gruesome elevator fight between Cameron and the
other Terminatrix. That scene alone makes this episode worth watching.
Yep. Although I'm not sure twisting a T-8xx's head around should kill
it, I loved seeing it dumped off like a pretzel.
Did anybody else think their combined weight was gonna be too much for
the elevator?
Yes.
When she dumped Posable Terminator on the living room floor, she was
carring the brain chip separately. I had assumed that some part of the
the
variuos bending flexing and interweaving was sufficient to throw her into
the 120 second reboot, and Cameron just removed the chip at that point.
There was some dialogue that Skynet is getting smarter and setting the
chips to auto-destruct when the good guys do that, to keep John from
re-programming them.
Of course John's first thought was that Cam had fried the chip herself,
and as far as we know, maybe she did . . .
The idea of Skynet getting smarter bothers me. That means it's
receiving feedback from the past, in some sort of linear fashion, and it
knows John reprogrammed Cam.
I assumed it was related to the comment earlier in the episode that in the
future John had a lot or reprogrammed Terminators, at least one for every
base.
Oh. Yeah, good point.
