the frig is Trig?

I'll guess that "Trig" stands for "Trisomy 21," the genetic condition that causes Down's Syndrome, which Trig is suffering from.

"Trisomy 21" refers to an extra copy of chromosome #21. Each of us normal folks has 23 pairs of chromosomes. But when a baby is born with a 3rd copy of chromosome #21, giving it 47 chromosomes total, the baby ends up with Down's Syndrome.
