Obama didn't grow up in Chicago. He didn't get to Chicago till he was
24. He grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia. And didn't he also grow up in a
suburb of Kansas City too?

Unless you want to compare ACADEMIC records, then Obama sure is, you
know, ELITIST.

I'm not speaking of his academic record. I'm speaking of the way he
presents his ideas, or did while he was trying to differentiate himself
from Hillary, and the types of people he appeals to.

All right, I admit I was mistaken about his geography, but he was
raised by a single mom of no particular wealth or position (translate:
poor).

He wasn't raised by his mother. It didn't sound like he saw her much of
the time, except for the first Indonesian period. In Hawaii, he was
raised by his grandparents; his mother went back to Indonesia.

I never heard they were on food stamps; thought his grandparents were in
decent shape.

Dictionary.com defines 'elitist' as

1. practice of or belief in rule by an elite.
2. consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored
group

The class Obama belongs to is the intelligentsia.

Personally, I don't see how *Obama* fits either definition. It's
pretty clear to me that McCain uses the word as a substitute for
'uppity'. So who's the true 'elitist'?

I don't mind a little snootiness in politicians. FDR was patrician.
