I heard that the Metro-media company has closed its chains of
restaurants.
I thought that company owned TV and radio stations. Did they leave
the broadcast business?
The Metromedia company has not owned any TV stations for over 20 years,
they were sold to 20th Century Fox in 1986, which are now owned by
Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. John Kluge has taken the Metromedia
company private and one of the subsidiaries of the Metromedia
Restaurants Group is closing only their corporately owned restaurants,
the franchised versions are staying open. For more information see the
wikipedia article on John Kluge <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Kluge>
