I've never found a web-based forum that has a format even 1/3 as good
as usenet. (I also think that the level of posters you find on the web
is inferior to the best usenet has, and esp. has had, to offer.)

Maybe it isn't just about format......I've found plenty of posters there that are fun to read and articulate.
There are places there for off topic posts, so if you don't want to read it, you just don't go to it. You don't have to wade through it or put up a thousand kill-files.

But I've also never found a website that attracted my interest that
way.

So I'm genuinely curious when people such as you and Hole say you do
use them. 'Cos I've never found a decent web-based forum for general
TV.

Notice that I haven't abandoned Usenet. It is for certain posters still left on rec.arts.tv that I do bother to come, read, reply or post.
Maybe all the political dribble, all the gossip/trash Taylor can copy and paste, all the NotsafeforKids crap, etc has turned legitimate posters off.
