Does anyone else see those giant red balls as a good

they are wearing helmets -- falling ten feet and then
contacting a solid object would not be good.

The rings are padded. Still though, it looks dangerous.

Those balls are one of the least dangerous things on there IMO.
Several people did face plants on one variety of platform or another,
especially that thing that swings around and tries to knock you off
your feet. Even though they are all padded they are also solid enough
to hold an adult's weight. I forget which event it was now but on a
segment tonight the cute little Alaskan gal who was on there (the only
contestant so far to successfully negotiate the Big Balls, BTW) was
very obviously checking to see if her front teeth were loose after
coming down face-first on a platform.

Ok, the platforms are not good either, but usually you could have only
fallen approximately your own height when you hit one of those and
probably you won't land so that your own weight compresses your neck.
You can face plant and snap your neck back or rip your shoulder
though. The rotating noodle jump looks like a shoulder surgery event.
Still, the rings under the balls are going to be hit at high speed
after falling your height plus another eight or ten feet and the
padding is thinner than what is on the platforms. If someone hits one
of those the wrong way they will haul the guy away paralyzed from the
neck down.
