Josh Cooke, Will Sasso join pilots
Plus other castings for the upcoming TV season
By Nellie Andreeva and Kimberly Nordyke
Josh Cooke has been tapped to star opposite Alan Tudyk in ABC's
untitled David Cohan/Max Mutchick comedy pilot.
In other pilot castings, Will Sasso has joined the ABC comedy
"Five-Year Plan," while Jon Bernthal and Omar Benson Miller have come
aboard the Fox drama "Courtroom K."
The untitled Kohan/Mutchick comedy, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on
two men -- one straight (Cooke), one gay (Tudyk) -- who are lifelong
best friends and business partners. Cooke, who starred on CBS' comedy
pilot "My Best Friend's Girl," is repped by APA and Untitled.
"Plan," from Universal Media Studios, is a multicamera comedy about a
group of twentysomethings who try to figure out the next five years
and beyond.
Sasso will play Glen Simon, who, recently divorced and jealous of his
younger brother's vast experience with women, has decided to relive
the 20s he never had.
"Mad TV" alumnus Sasso ("College Road Trip") is repped by APA and
Allman/Rae Management.
Paul Attanasio's "Courtroom K," from 20th Century Fox TV, is a darkly
comedic drama that revolves around a judge (Alfred Molina), a
prosecutor (Michael Landes) and a public defender (Megan Dodds).
Bernthal will play a veteran police detective who is involved with the
defender.
Miller will play a social worker who gets into a conflict with the
defender.
