"Women's Murder Club" will return with original episodes on
TUESDAY, APRIL 29 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET)
Chances for survival for any of the three just dropped.
Pushing the last three MIT eps outside the May sweeps period is
not a good sign. They might as well have just given them "To Be
Determined" airdates, and held them back for the fall (again) if
they were planning to renew.
And if MIT failed in the Wed@10 slot, I don't expect BOSTON LEGAL
to do much better, or any better than what it was doing on Tuesday.
I found out something about BL, actually. Apparently while not highly
rated, it is watched by people who buy expensive stuff, plus it keeps
winning awards, plus they want to keep David Kelly reasonably happy, plus
its audience is loyal. I could never figure out why it wasn't cancelled,
but apparently it has just exactly the right stuff to dodge the bullet.
We'll see if this kills it. I like the show, myself, but well, we'll see.
It used to get 10.5-11 million viewers but declined quickly and since
ABC doesn't own a stake in the show I guess they'll be less patient.
And I don't expect WMC to do any better on Tuesday than BL did
(or JERICHO did on CBS).
"Murder Club" got 8 million viewers on Friday so it could do well on
Tuesday. Its problem is it got less than a 2 rating in 18-49s
.
