Could anyone comment on the following?
The news has reported that those of us who have cable TV service
won't need a digital converter because cable signals will continue
to be analog. Until 2012.
Can you point out this story, please? I'm honestly confused as to what
federal regulations there are for cablecasting methodology.
That sounded great to me until I saw the 2012 part. I strongly plan
to keep my TV sets and VCRs until that time. That means when cable
does all digital, my set up won't work anymore.
You have no cable boxes whatsoever? I find that hard to believe.
You can believe it. I don't have any cable boxes either and I have 6 TVs
and 8 recording devices (DVD and VCR) hooked up to my cable system. And
that's why I don't want to switch from analog cable. When my cable
company eliminated HBO on the analog lineup as a way to force people
like me to upgrade, I simply dropped HBO. Turns out I didn't miss it
either.
