My problem isn't the VCR, is the tapes I want to transfer to DVD.
Good old '80s macrovision. Is there a surefire way around it? The
movie I MOST wanted to transfer isn't on DVD (Amazing Grace and
Chuck).
Do some research athttp://www.videohelp.com. There are plenty of dvd
players that ignore macrovision. And there are other ways around it too.
Uh
what good would a DVD player do her?
She wants to transfer VHS to DVD.
She needs a DVD recorder.
And the DVD recorder can't 'ignore' macrovision -- it's encoded on the
tape, messing up the signal coming out of the VCR.
She needs a VCR that ignores macrovision, or a macrovision breaker, or a
time base corrector.
I once had a friend that used to copy tapes using
a TV with a built-in VCR. If I'm not mistaken he used
a VCR to play the tape and the TV/VCR to
record. Apparently the built in tuner on the TV/VCR
fooled the MV. (I could have the operating procedure backwards but I
know he used to do it)
