I recently interviewed an elderly woman who visited the sanatorium
back in the 1940s. She was born to a poor family in "little africa"
Louisville, Kentucky, in 1935. They had moved to a housing project,
located at 12th & Hill, when she was twelve. At age fifteen, she &
her family visited a neighbor, a young teenage man, terminally ill
with tuberculosis. She remembered the wide staircases, no elevator,
he was bedridden in a room down a long hallway on the second floor.
She said everyone was so sad (you know, the affliction of the Moon
opposite the Chariot, unsettling motion/emotion being disciplined),
a feeling of collective sadness pervasive throughout the building.
She said the boy was well-liked in their neighborhood, and that it
made them especially sad to see such a tall, handsome, and healthy
young man dying of such a horrible disease before the prime of his
life. They had antibiotics by then, but for him and many others in
the gloomy yet as she described sanitary facility, it was too late.
The last time that the 'Ghost Hunters' TAPS crew were there (which
episode originally aired March 29, 2006 on the Sci-Fi channel), it
turned out to be a very productive investigation. They've captured `
so much conclusive evidence over the past several years (since the
series debut in 2004), that the only thing that still amazes me is
that there are still some self-described "unbelievers", delusional `
Atheists to call a spade a spade, out there in the great big world.
Like Einstein quipped "There are only two things that are infinite"!
I was even more impressed than the TAPS crew were with the episode
several weeks ago at the Gibbons House in Sammamish, WA. What they
called a "shadow" looked a lot more like a full-body apparition to
me because part of her body was very conspicuously either emitting
or reflecting light, not just partially obscuring background light
as shades/shadow people typically do in the visible light spectrum.
The EVPs spoken by the deceased mother proved this to be her ghost.
But of course no amount of incontrovertible evidence will convince
the "unbeliever", like the bible says only death and hell is their
reward. They'll get their proof on their dying day, suffice to say.
But for the rest of us who know that ghosts are a fact of life and
death i.e. the afterlife which is eternally about, "within you and
without you", to quote the late great George Harrison (The Beatles
best album was 'Sgt. Pepper's LHCB', IMHO, though 'Rubber Soul' or `
'Revolver' must be a close second; albeit my favorite song was off
the 'Magical Mystery Tour' album, "I Am The Walrus" by John Lennon,
who was the finest, most talented rock & roll musician of all time,
though Jimi Hendrix was the greatest live R&R performer in history),
the rest of us look forward to every paranormal investigation, and
psychic detectives assisting civilian homicide detectives to solve `
non-governmental "covert-ops" crimes (i.e. CIA, SS, KGB, MI5, etc.,
knowing that they'll get their due-comeuppance in the hereafter to
sub-atomic exactitude), knowing that psychic powers are real, just
as spirit-people, divinely-sentient immortal beings, ghosts being `
people too, even all ETs (all men being Created equal Universally)
are as real as corporeal reality is as real as the continuum gets.
IOW Ghosts are real, whereas Atheists are really infantile morons! :)
That said, we _also_ know that there a more than a few loony-bins
out there, some certifiable schizos who might benefit in a rubber `
room and straightjacket (full frontal lobotomy? shock treatment?),
and myriads of unwary people who might've confused non-paranormal
phenomena for that which is popularly described as paranormal, or `
supernatural, preternatural, spiritual, heavenly, hellish, beyond
the five mortal senses, sixth sense, psychic clarity, clairvoyant, `
clairaudient, clairsentient, even clairscentient, clairgustatient,
as every wiccan knows for the exaltation of Mars in the "inverted"
pentagram (the Capricornian he-goat is shown right-side up, horns
up, beard down toward the geocenter of gravity, ears on each side;
whereas man, Mars, is shown head up, legs down, arms outstretched),
or vice versa, which warrants scrupulously-scientific investigation
a.k.a. healthy skepticism, ergo to debunk claims of the paranormal
but _only_ where such conclusions are warranted, and not otherwise.
Remember, human participants do greatly affect their investigation `
into the paranormal, even as objective and conscientious observers.
A tiny mustard seed of pure undiluted faith goes a long way indeed.
Thus, I hope tonight's return live from the WHS in Louisville goes `
very well for Jason, Grant, and the whole TAPS crew. May the ghost
of that ill-fated young man from 12th & Hill, and myriads of other 6
unlucky souls who died there, may you all go on active duty at WHS
and give the 'Ghost Hunters' plenty of evidence on camera, on EVPs,
and on live audio. There will be millions of mere mortals watching!
