The Fourth Amendment does apply, liar. Try not to have a heart attack ;

Of course it applies. They won't be able to prosecute anyone based on
any evidence gathered in that unwarranted search, but that was not what
they were after.

Couple unwarranted searches with the ability to imprison and detain
indefinitely without bringing charges and you don't need trials.

Hey, I'm not saying it's a good thing. I'm just saying that in the
context of the show they had reasons. In real life, I'm pretty much
opposed to the whole Patriot Act and the bending and stretching of
Constitutional law that is going on. I'm hoping that pedulum swings
back soon, but that's not relevant to the show under discussion.

Now, I remember a show some years back called "The Hat Squad" that
just drove me up the wall due to blatant unconstitutional actions
by supposed police officers that made no sense even in the context
of the show, and they *glorified* those things. I don't know why,
but that one show in particular stands out for me, so maybe NCIS
stands out for the OP in the same way.
