The unaired pilot had some balls, but this is sort of the politically
correct re-write. They cut the dumb brother, changed the situation
from "People are prejudiced against cavemen" and reversed to "Cavemen
are prejudiced against sapiens" which sort of wrecks the whole
premise. The idea was, I thought, to use cavemen as a metaphorical
character race to "stand in" for all minorities. Instead, they're just
hairy dudes with a beef against non-hairy people. All "caveman" ideals
and all the stereotyping jokes are practically deleted from this
version.

That's what happens when you have people accusing "Cavemen" of being a
racist show. They go back & make it Politically-correct, thus turning
the show into a fluff piece, instead of a show with meaning.

If they tried to remake "All in the Family" today, Archie Bunker would
not be racist, he would not be mean to his wife, and you'd have a show
that is bland as bleach.

Same with "Twilight Zone". Instead of memorable stories having
lessons to learn, it would be censored to the point of people just
moving around on stage..... completely meaningless.

All in the Family could not be made today. Anyone involved in the
project would be fired and forced to beg forgiveness, then they would
have to go through "sensitivity training" or "rehab". (The Communist/
Marxist/Leninist countries used to call this "re-education", where
anyone foolish enough to disagree with the government was considered
criminally insane and thrown into prisons or mental institutions,
starved or tortured).

We seem to be going in that direction.
