Oh. Personally I think shows should judged on their own merits,
rather by comparison with some separate continuity in another medium.
If a movie or television series is an adaptation, it's fair to compare
it to the original medium.
Probably most viewers have never experienced its other incarnation, so
the comparison is meaningless. I suppose it would be useful in the
context of recommending the original -- you might warn them not to let
their distaste for the TV version bias them against checking it out.
